The first years in the studio.

So this organist  named "Jimmy Smith" walks into the studio where I was  apprenticing as a sound engineer., This was back in the 60's. He was already famous then for  his LP's . As he walked over to the   B3 organ, I stupidly asked him is he knew how to  turn it on. He smiled and said, sure, but why dont you show me anyway. I was told later on who he was, and I  embarrasingly apologized.  "No problem" he said. That was one of my first recording sessions as an audio engineer.  Fortunately, I am still  doing the music and sound bit, an  much wiser  in knowing the background of the person(s) I work with.
